Yep, you think you just need one more. I thought that as well when I started with my K22 and then an M15. Seems the collection started growing from there. This is an older picture as more have been added since and it's still growing.....
Do yourself a favor. Stay away from the nickle plated S&Ws. Once you get one of those the whole things starts all over....

From the bottom right and going counter clockwise a K22, an M15, a 500, a 686 plus, a M66 and then a 642 in the center. Below is a dueling set of unfluted 629s.

The older Smiths are some of the finest revolvers ever made. I have owned many of them over the years and wish that I had never let any of them slip away from me. It can be argued that the K-frame guns are the best design to come from S&W. The desire of the OP to own a model 10 is easy to understand. The production of millions of model 10s is testament to the quality and desirability of the design. To be such a basic service type revolver it's accuracy and durability is outstanding. I think that everyone should own at least one model 10.

Well, I've put on my helmet and body armor and have dug in good and deep, but I'm really going to go against the grain here.

I say skip another 38, and get the bigger brother to your 66, and get a Model 69, in 44 Magnum. I got one a few weeks ago, and it has quickly become my favorite Smith & Wesson I've ever owned, and I have owned plenty of them.

I'm thinking seriously of getting a 66 like you've got myself.

I like the 10s, bought one last summer, turned out to have markings from Hong Kong Customs. Pretty cool.

But my favorite is a K98 Target Masterpiece. 6" barrel, adjustable sights, nice balance, great trigger. It may be the sweetest shooter I own. It's certainly the most accurate pistol.

After that, I had to have a K22 to go with it.
But the K98 is one of 4 guns I will never sell.

Ah , K38 Target Masterpiece. I have a K38 Combat Masterpiece , 4". I do not know how the two differ , but do not wish to stray off topic.
