Is it a five or six shot gun?
Does the cylinder swing out to the side or does the barrel swing down at the front, tilting the cylinder up?

the cylinder swings out 6 shot the butt doesnt have a v on it and it doesnt seem to be wore off either the p on the cylinder and all the other serial locations throws me the made in usa and the S.&W. logo looks the same ....if someone can tell me how to upload some pics ill post some thank ya for helping me try to figure this one out

Oswald Special.....

John, you know dang well that:

1) Oswald was shot with a Colt Cobra, and

2) It was a set-up and he AND Jack Ruby framed.

a) After the FBI doctored the evidence:

b) Actual photograph:

I read this on the internet so I know dang well it's true.

the gun Oswald had with him when cought.....an old lend lease victory

Ah - did not remember that right away, but now I do recall it. My apologies and that is good to know/be reminded. I now recall it was a .38 S&W but I did not know it was a cut-down Victory. Interesting.

So he likely had it on him when he was in that school suppository building, right? ;)

...Oswald, having taken the Bus and also walked a ways to go home...while at home, supposedly got the .38 Snubby and put it into 'Mexican' Carry mode, in his pants-waist, and put on a light color Jaket...and left...ending up in the Theater.

However, it is not at all clear whether the .38 Revolver was his or was ever his...or was planted on or merely said to have been 'on' his person at the time of his arrest in the Theater.

Revolver was a sawed-off, S&W 'Victory' made into a 'Snubby', originally chambered in .38 S&W, whose Cylinder had been bored out longer to accept .38 Special.

The Bullets found in Officer Tippets were never shown to have matched Test Bullets fired out of the Revolver attributed to Oswald...even though some of the empty Shell casings found at the Tippet's murder scene, were said to have 'matched' the Firing Pin indent.

As I recall...none of the shell casings were 'bulged', as one would expect, for being fired from an elongated .38 S&W Cylinder Bore...but, it's been a while since I was looking into this...
