Just wanted to say hi. Just purchased a Lee classic turret press and all the reloading gear I could think of. I'm new to the reloading world and am excited about making my own ammo. Been shooting my whole life, so I guess it's about time. I'll be reloading 17 rem, 223 rem, 270 win, 308 win, 380 auto, 9mm Luger, 45 LC and eventually 12ga trap loads. Thanks in advance for any shared knowledge.

Welcome to THR from Arizona!

Your decision to start reloading is going to be one of the most satisfying and interesting hobbies you'll probably ever experience. There are so many seasoned and knowledgeable members here, IMHO, you've chosen the right place.

I saw in your opening post that you'll be working with the 17 Rem., that right there is so awesome! I have been been intrigued by that chambering for a good 25 yrs., so please don't forget to keep us in the loop on that one as well.

Welcome aboard, I have gotten so much help and info here its a great place
to be :)

Welcome. This group helped me make the jump a couple of years ago ... wish I hadn't waited so long! Yes, read the library ... but don't hesitate to ask questions. And check out the PIF (pay it forward) thread. Always someone giving something helpful away there.

Thanks y'all. I just finished reading the Lee reloading manual and tagging all my cartridges of interst. I'm gonna hop on the library of wisdom tomorrow morning first thing.

I'll be reloading 17 rem, 223 rem,..

Welcome to THR. For your .223, barrel length is going to affect powder selection. Someone (and I can't remember who, now) talked me into buying some 4198 for mine, and I ended up below the starting load for 40 grain bullets. Beautiful groups, but only 3205 fps with 40 grain bullets. Good thing I had the chronograph to help me detect friction too, because the bullets that were landing higher were actually travelling slower! Good luck to you.

Welcome to the wonderful, often frustrating world of reloading. My best advise is; Go slow, double check everything, and most important, have fun!

Welcome, and these guys will take you from newb to nerd quicker than you can say KABOOM !

Another Welcome to the best internet reloading resource in the world. We have RC, Walkalong, BDS, Gamestalker, blarby, cfullgraf, slamfire, archangelCD, jmorris, Peter Eick, Lost Sheep, clark (haven't seen him much lately), fguffey, jcwit, and many others here that will always patiently answer the most basic and complex questions alike.

And we even managed to get PotatoHead trained, so that's a plus --:neener:

I have learned a great deal just by reading - and I truly believe I am a better reloader today because of the knowledge gained here.
