New town will be much safer now. You can't shoot 4 hours after police are called (sligtly confused on that) and if you choose to target practice you must have a backstop 10 ft above target.

Unbelievable!!!

Yeah, I read it on Fox News. I would post link but its on my fox app and not sure how to accomplish that.

The ordinance approved last week by the Legislative Council says no resident may shoot for more than four hours after police are notified and shooting is limited to one person at a time. Target backstops are required and must be 10 feet above the target.
No shooting is allowed within a half-mile of a school.
The ordinance is targeted at recreational shooting and does not affect hunters or gun salutes for memorial events and tributes.

Well that makes perfect sense. Following the logic of the article all of those bullets in Newtown must have came from wild shots from a target range too close to the school. I can see why they would regulate it. It's for the children.

Seriously, doesn't Connecticut have state preemption? If they don't, they need to enact that law to prevent stupid city councils from trying to pass stupid laws.

I doubt Connecticut cares. They probably look at town ordinances for new ideas on state laws.
