New Weatherby 307

I like it!

I have been looking for new hunting rifle for quite a while and have not been very inspired by what is out there. This looks interesting.

I'll pass! For only a little more money, you can buy any number of custom action's that more than likely will run circles around a factory built action. I've got 4 custom actions, and will never buy another factory action again to build a rifle.

What actions are you working from?
I know there were some semi-custom (I realize were mostly talking about high end production actions) running under 1K, most of what Ive looked at start at 1100 and go up from there tho.

Zermatt Origin comes to mind, by the time you add a pic rail to the Weatherby your probably around the same price, but without all the prefits and track record. The Aero Solus and ARC CDG would probably both get my vote before this thing as well. For a second I was hoping they were going to offer an action with a 3 position safety, and that would have been unique in terms of builders actions for hunting rifles, but this looks more like a me-too of a bunch of options already out there.

I've got a Shilen DGR action, and three American Rifle Co. action's - Nucleus, Nucleus 2.0, and Archimedes. There's also Zermatt, Mack Brothers, and several other's that have action's that are under $1k. PT&G has several choices on their site on sale right now.
