New Weatherby Mark XXII

Has anyone fondled one of the new ones yet? I have an older one that I bought to give to my son and have been looking for another one to give to son #2. I must say I am a little peeved that they are now in production again.

The original Mark XXII's were a thing of beauty and craftmanship, hopefully those standards are still up to par with these new one's, plus they are offering it in .17HMR to boot.

Someone else wrote that it looks like an Anschutz in a Weatherby stock.

I'm not sure if that's true, but that would speak well for it in my book, on both counts.

Thanks for the reply, when I did my search your earlier thread didn't come up for some reason. I love the old Italian one I have and it shoots great, has vintage Weatherby optics on it.

If I were to buy a new one it would be in .17HMR from a collectable standpoint. I think the reintroduction might drive the used prices down some too.

I thought the Weatherby XXII was an autoloader, not a bolt.

The old ones were auto loaders either tube fed or mag.
