Buffalo Gun Center off Harlem Rd in Amherst/Cheektowaga used to be a good supply center for ammo and reloading stuff. I haven't been there in the past few years but they were the best all-round gunshop in Erie/Niagara counties. Actually your best bet is on the web. You might have to pay an occasional Haz-mat fee ($20) but if you group your purchases the money you save is more than worth the extra fees. Also, they usually don't charge NYS sales tax, another big savings.
Get into reloading. Check out the Niagara County Sportsmen's Association club and range. Talk to those guys and take their advise. Or move to a gun-friendly state like Florida or Texas (just kidding---not!)
I have followed your other posts and know you are trying to get a handgun permit. I have a 30 YO daughter in Erie County trying to get a CCW. So far no go. I am trying to get her to apply for a Florida out-of-state CCW permit and use that as a bargaining chip (lawyer assisted). I'll let you know how she makes out---
