I want to say first"GOD BLESS MY FELLOW DEVIL DOGS GONE BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN".I currently have 4 NFA weapons. My first one is a MAC-11 9mm machine gun. I bought it 10 years ago for the amazing price of $795+$200 about $1070 O.T.D. I see them no going for we'll over $3000-$3500.I love it as it runs about 1200-1500 rpm's. 30 rounds in about 2-3 seconds. My second was a mossberg 590 AOW 14" barrel a factory made shotgun. This I paid exactly $300+ a whopping $5.00 tax . This is a fun gun and gets a lot of looks and a lot of questions. The third is my Yankee Hill suppresor that's mounted to my fourth but not the last my SBR LMT defender 2000 rifle wich is a 10.5" barrel. I can fire this rifle and yes it is very quite,lower then my Ruger 10/22. I don't have to wear ear muffs. I love to collect these as for the time being there still legal on the Federal level and in my home state of Nevada.I have a kit that allows me to have installed the mossberg 590 to the Colt 6920. Take alook at the movie Preditor the first one and the Indian guy has the same set up when he goes to battle the beast. It's mounted as to the same way an M203 40mike mike is mounted under the barrel. This is one bad a$$ looking rifle/shotgun and I'm always asked how its mounted and where I got and how I made it. The only bad thing is weight. It's about 12lbs with mag loaded up"60 round SUREFIRE" and 5-2.75 double OO buck. If any one out here has some cool and functional weapons as these I would like to share some ideas and suggestions as to what to get next. By mounting your AOW to a shoulder fired firearm have you not just made a short barrelled shotgun?

If so, its no longer an AOW, but an SBS and requires a $200 tax stamp.

Since it is no longer designed to be fired from the shoulder, it no longer meets the Federal definition of a shotgun. A SBS has to have a shoulder stock to be defined as an SBS. So something like the Serbu Super Shorty 12 gauge is an AOW due to the fact is has no stock. A 'Master key' 590 mounted under an AR is an AOW, not a SBS.

ETA: Of course, now that I think about it, it might be an SBS once it is mounted to something else with a shoulder stock. I'd get 100% clarification from BATFE before attaching anything.

I also have a 590 AOW, the 14" pump factory-made shorty. It's such a handy defense weapon. It was my first NFA weapon, and now I'm working on my third. I also have an SBR RRA 10.5" AR and sending in the ppw on a DD 37mm launcher this week. A YHM Phantom is next for the SBR.

I don't believe that. I'm not a lawyer and everyone is welcome to be as careful as they want. However, if a had a stockless shotgun registered as an AOW, I wouldn't be the least bit concerned attaching it under the barrel of a rifle. I do not believe they would even attempt to stretch that into a SBS. Likewise, I wouldn't hesitate (if I was working on a project that required it) to attach a normal title 1 handgun under the barrel of a title 1 rifle. If the stock of the host weapon can be considered part of the AOW (or pistol) then by the same logic the BARREL of the host weapon would also be considered part of it therefore stretching it past the legal minimum. Like I said, everybody do what you feel comfortable with, I'm just saying I (personally) would be comfortable doing that.

BTW OP, yer math is a little off (or mine is). I also own an M11/9 SMG and 1200-1500 RPM would mean a 30rd goes by in a second and a half (20 rounds per second)

Mounting a title I pistol to a title I rifle or shotgun requires a tax stamp for a shirt barrel rifle.

Take a look at USFA and their ZiP.22 pistol, they sell a rail that attaches the pistol to an M-16, but in doing so, it (the pistol) becomes an SBR.
