NIB S&W Model 10-5 for $500?

I'm always fascinated by all the experts who claim they wouldn't pay over "X" amount for a particular firearm.

Many times they obviously live in a different era then me as one can't find a minty representation of a particular firearm where I live (for along time frankly).

It's worth whatever the market will bear, $500 for a NIB Model10 is a reasonable deal in my view.

I think some of the suggestions are unrealistic in 2014 and in certain markets. Much more in line with used firearms but not as described.

Worth it? Wait three years . . . TRY to find a NIB vintage one . . . and see what it will bring.

Old Model 10s are NOT rare . . . but pristine, NIB ones? Absolutely! Most people bought the Model 10 as a working gun, not a safe queen. I'd buy it.

I'm with driftwood, I dunno where you're finding $250-$300 guns, except PD trade ins online. Most of those are 64s.

Around here (if I see any) and it shoots, it's gonna wear a $400 price tag.
