I have one of those. It was a bequest from my father. The only difference is that the sheeth is all nylon. He bought it new in the late 1980's for $50.

I'm not the biggest fan of Cold Steel, but they've had their moments.

That critter there is one of them.

 
I like the SRK, it's one of my favorite Cold Steel knives. May I ask how much did they stick you for? I'm guessing it wasn't the original MSRP.

I have several original SRKs in kydex sitting around largely unused: I have them in bug out bags for my wife and I, known to us as 72 hour kits, a VERY good idea to have in Alaska. There is one on my Tuffy console for my 1981 GMC truck, mounted outside of the console by bolts running through a couple holes in the sheath, I can reach down and grab it while I'm driving. One is mounted on the frame of my Goldwing, again bolted through the sheath. It hides nicely along the seat, not really visible unless you're really looking for it.

$50.00.....I couldn't believe it either, when I asked what he wanted and he said '$50.00", I had "SOLD" out so fast my brain didn't have time to think it first. :)
