Nickel or Stainless 1860 Colt Armys

I have been reading a few posts an have gotten a little confused about the Colt 2nd Gen. Armys wether they came in nickel finish as an option. I have heard many talk of stainless on these. I am a Civil War reenactor and would like to find a nickel finish one if they exist. I have a regular blued finish 1970's colt Army that I bought noe too long ago, but interested if there is a nickel one. Are folks like me confusing this with a stainless version?

Just doing a cursory search on the Colt Forum, and it appears they came in electroless nickel and stainless.

I'm sure that others know better than I. You may want to search the Colt forum yourself.
