The build is almost done, I have been tinkering with this Remington R25 for a few months and I have finally got it to where I want it to shoot. My VX-R firedot 4-12 is in transit and will be the cherry on top. The gun started life as a Remington R25 .308 and I yanked the trigger first week I had it. I eventually put a Timney single stage 3lb AR15 trigger in it and it made a night and day difference- I highly recommend these triggers for all AR rifles. Lilja had some 24" stainless threaded .93 barrels in stock and I got mine about 3 weeks ago. I gained about 2 lbs but this barrel shoots dimes all day with sierra 168 BTHPs. The really odd thing is this barrel doesnt get dirty. You can shoot 20 rounds through it and it doesnt have any crumbs and soot in it. I never broke in a barrel before and I have always been on the other side of the fence but Lilja gave me instructions to do so. I figured it couldnt hurt anything so I cleaned it out with a bore snake and some solvent after every few shoots the first twenty. I am sure that with or without the break in process it would still shoot clean. I am guessing the hand lapping is so mirror smooth that everything blows out. In order to shave some weight I replace the A2 stock with an ACE skeleton stock. I dont find the ACE stock to be the most aesthetically pleasing but I ran one on another rifle and find them to be very functional. The narrow ACE fits my anatomy way better than A2 and I gained a rubber but pad to tame the recoil. I decided to take it out on a turkey hunt last night. No turkey action but I knew there were hogs and waited for this guy to stroll in at 10pm. 80 yards, I had faith in the accuracy so i put one behind the ear. I need to loose another lb or so and am searching for a Clark's Carbon Fiber float tube they put on the DPMS rifles a while back. I would put this garage made frankenLR up against a Wilson Combat any day. IMG_09871_zps71d82c9d.jpg

Wait? I thought ARs had no sporting use and left the meat "totally unusable"?

my bathroom scale says 12 lbs unloaded . I hunt from blinds so weight isn't a huge factor.

Nice rifle,and nice hog.
I've always put an ACE stock on my AR's. My 223 is the only one that still has an A2 stock on it,I just shoot it better with that stock, but the 458 SOCOM,and LR-260 have the ACE.
