I have narrowed my choices for a new scope down to the Bushnell Elite 3200 and the Nikon Buckmaster. I plan on getting a 3-9x40 model of one of these. Does anyone have any recommendations between the two. Both of them are about the same amount of money so that will not be a deciding factor. I have looked through both of them at the store, but I have not been able to carry them out into the field to see how they perform in low light. I also think that they both have the same lifetime warranty, so that shouldn't be a deciding factor either. I have eliminated the Leupold Rifleman and Burris Fullfield II from my choices because of the somewhat disfavorable reviews that I have seen in other respones on this forum. I have also eliminated the Nikon Primos because it only comes with the BDC reticle (which I don't need) and the fact that it cost about $50 more than my above choices. I may can get over the BDC reticle of the Nikon Primos if everybody really thinks that it is that much better and worth the extra money over my two choices above. Thanks for all feedback.

Logon to Cabela's and MidwayUSA websites. Then go to those two scopes in the Optics section.

Read all the reviews of those and other scopes. You'll see all sorts of opinions, some helpful, some not. But it is a good starting point. This is what I do before I commit to buying similar products. Good luck!

They are very similar scopes optically. I don't think you will notice much/any difference in the field on average. I would pick the one that you like better based on size/weight/look. The primos are much better optics than the 3200 or the buckmaster. If you can get over the BDC and the $50 I think you will get a much better scope than the other two.

Three years ago, I bought a Bushnell 3200 3-9x32 for a deer rifle that gets rained on form time to time so the "Rain Guard" coating makes a difference to me. Been quite happy with it.

The "Rain Guard" feature available with the Elite 3200 really does work as advertised. My son and I re-confirmed that during Alabama's youth hunt this past Saturday.

The team primos 3-9x40 is a rebadged monarch with a BDC so it is a way better scope than the 3200, seriously the primos is a monarch go check out the SWFA forum for more info. I think SWFA has the primos for $200 which is probably one of the best bangs for buck out there today. If you want a bushnell with rainguard the 3-9x40 4200 elite is the way to go, it is also available at closeout pricing ($250 - $300). I own the bushnell 4200 and it is a great scope though I bought it when it was on sale. Also check out the Zeiss conquest 3-9x40.
