As you all know I've been having fits trying to get CCI #10's to fit my ROA.

All I had to do was put the threaded end (gently) of my Treso's in my small drill press and hit it with a very fine tooth file. The use of 320 sand paper was useless. It was just a few minutes per nipple. I checked the fit after every time I hit it with the file. The 10's go on all the way and do not fall off.

I have to tell you that whatever the Treso nipples are made of isn't as hard as I thought it would be.

So now I have a set of nipples for my ROA for CCI #10's, Remington #11's and RWS 1075+.

This whole nipple fit dilemma goes away.

I made a nut driver to fit the Treso nipples with a dremel...again, no brainer and works great. Just to a 3/16th, took a carbide cutter.

Probably the best thing you ever did in reference to percussion revolver shooting! Rather than being in percussion cap hell, with one revolver liking Remington #11 caps and another liking CC#10's, and a third not being reliable with anything, now you are on the road to having ALL of you revolvers taking a single size, so you can buy them in bulk.

Plus, by making sure you have a good fit you eliminate ignition problems and double strikes, and reduce the possibility of chain-fires to almost nil.

One last thing. I tested my ROA using my reduced diameter Treso nipples and CCI #10's.

I also put in some Blomquist Nipples and some RWS 1075+ caps. The RWS caps are hugely more powerful. Firing just the caps, the RWS caps just dwarf the CCI as far as spark and flame.

I also stupidly mixed up a Blomquist nipple with a Treso and chucked it in my drill press. The Blomquist is much harder. The file had far less effect on the Blomquist than it did the Treso.

None of this may make any difference to anyone because they both work well.

By the way, if you go to Blomquist's site...the phone is wrong. To order from Blomquist call 1 317-581-9706. There is no one I've ever spoken to that knows more about this stuff.
