I'm located in northern NJ (Union County). Is anyone in here an FFL in that area, or know of one I can contact? Specifically one that costs less than $60 (most around here want $100. :what:)

The usual sources (GunBroker) isn't kept up to date very well (prices are wrong, several are out of business... like SARCO :barf:)

Thanks!

It's gonna be a drive for you, but I won't do a transfer through anyone but Jim Flynn on Rt. 31 in Hunterdon. He's cheap for transfers (I paid $45 cash for my last one, including $15 NJ NICS fees) and he has really good prices on guns and ammo. Just note that he runs his FFL from his truck repair business, so between the two he tends to be very busy. Best to call or visit in the morning just after opening (9 AM). Also, no weekend hours.

Off Topic: SARCO was run out of NJ. in fact it's astonishing (and stupid!) that PA gave them an FFL. Google search for the case file and prepare to be amazed that none of them are in jail.

On Topic: you're right, that is a hike. probably not worth the $15 savings honestly. Thanks for replying thing, OBD. :D

p.s: SCFGPA

Armament Gunsmithing on 22 in Union/Hillside looks shady from the outside, but the times I have dealt with the owner in person and on the phone I felt very comfortable. He also gets good reviews for his transfer transactions on the internet.

Sota, came across this thread again, and remembered Lou's Gun Shop in Somerville/Raritan. I've never used them, but I've heard a lot of good things. Worth a shot if you're going to be near SCFGPA. Unfortunately I think they have $50-60 transfer fees.
