The NJCSD is proud to announce the next Right To Carry Road Show will be held to celebrate the Grand Opening of NJ Firearms Academy's new training facility and storefront!

Saturday, January 2nd

Located right next to Caso's Gun-A-Rama, the NJFA grand opening will be a day filled with food, libations, and lots of special promotions. There will be a book signing by Caitlyn Kelly to autograph her work 'Blown Away - American Women and Guns', among other exciting things going on. A number of celebrities and activists are invited and we hope they'll attend. It's sure to be a good time for all, so stop down, say hello, and get your FL permit!

For those of you who do not already have NRA Basic Pistol or know someone who still does not have a training certificate, NJFA is offering a special promotional price of $200 for the NRA Basic Pistol and BOTH the RTCRS FL CCW and UTAH permit processing! (link below)

Even if you do not already have a training certificate but want to apply for your CCW, you may attend the RTCRS and still have 30 days to you earn your certificate and postmark the envelope to Florida.

Is this another cop-shop like the Bullet Hole in Belleville?

I.e. cater to cops, retired cops, and security guards with discounts on qualifications and Glocks and and treat the rest of the plebians like second rate customers?

Oh and by training center, NRA basic pistol for police officer's wives?

Sorry, just a jaded Jersey guy here.

I guess, but I am rather sick of being "faked out" as the 2A situation in NJ is pretty awful right now.

I don't see any organization trying to genuinely promote the right of the people to keep and bear arms. It's just fudd's trying to keep hunting alive and the PBA crowd trying to make sure their non-cop buddies can still get handgun permits. All I see are people sucking up to a few a-hole gun shops and liberal police dept's.

Basically 2A in NJ is

The right of off-duty cops, corrections officers and security guards, to keep and bear handguns for use at the range on the weekend, shall be subject to a whole bunch of infringements.

The State OF New Jersey does not garauntee your 2A right and the court will tell you so as they have done just recently.................in a public statement by a State Supreme Court Judge...........

Oh, I know.

I have taken my money out of NJ. I haven't bought a long gun here in years, I go to PA to do so. I also no longer buy ammo in-state as well. All mail order. The only thing I was giving them was range time, and now that I've found several ranges in PA that are beautiful and cost $15 for the day, I rarely ever even shoot in NJ anymore.

I'll bring my money back when the a-hole "gun shops" like Bullet Hole stop treating their non-LEO customer's like worthless rats, and overpriced Gun Clubs like CNJRPC/OBRPC decide that a 100 yard rifle range is not worth $600 a year + work dues.

It sucks that our politicians are a bunch of jerks, but it's even worse that those in our community who COULD do something about it have instead decided to either cater to them, or take advantage of us, or both.

Dark Knight,

I agree with your assessment of the dreadful 2A situation in NJ, but I have to disagree with your comment about CJRPC. The range membership is not $600/yr, it is $200/yr. That $200 can easily be reduced to $100 by attending club meetings and volunteering some time to help out with club work projects or events. CJRPC does have the one-time $400 capital contribution, but I feel the quality of the range, as well as the on-going development and improvement of the club is worth it.

Also, CJRPC is not limited to a 100 yd range. In fact, we have the following: 300 yd rifle, 200m general purpose, 25/50 yd pistol, brand new 24 hr indoor pistol, 2 50yd and 4 75yd multi-purpose ranges, 4 regulation skeet and 5 reg. trap ranges with auto machines, and a fully-equipped archery range with shooting tower. Club members are also allowed to hunt the adjoining 200 acres.

There is always good things going on at CJRPC, from NRA high-power to cowboy action, to IPSC, to Youth Day, to Women on Target, hunter ed, etc...

And there are ranges in East PA, same driving distance, with all that for $15 a day and no capital contribution.

That amy meet your needs but I find CJRPC best for me. I only live about 30 minutes from the club. If I go shooting once a week I pay that $650 start up cost off before a year is up at $15 a trip. After that at $250 a year it becomes a bargain. CJRPC is spending a lot of money to improve the facilities as ammoeater said including increasing the number of multi-purpose ranges (the pits for those familiar with the place).
