Just read that the KDWPT is canceling the Fall turkey season. The explanation is there is a shortage of turkeys here in Kansas due to lack of production. I wonder if/when the "experts" will get around to addressing the Why there is a shortage of production?

Here in WI, the decline in populations in some areas has to do with depredation. Too many 'yotes, raccoons and other nest raiders. Took 'yotes a while to figure out how to hunt them, but know they have it down to a science. We still have a fall season with unlimited over the counter tags(one a day), but mainly because so few folks hunt them in the fall.

Bummer ... just as well for me ... the last three seasons I bagged my Turkey's in Walmart .
I'm going to have to check the prices this year ...if too high we might have to fix Turkey Spam or see about Turkey TV dinners ... food prices are getting insane !
The days of Louisiana Cajun Fried Turkey are gone forever !
