Lousy triggers
I have had more than my share of (the "G" word) and while they do nothing for me they ran perfect every time and they are unquestionably shootable. I have been shooting only 1911's now, other than revolvers, and decided that the M&P had much to offer over the "G" brand such as a grip that is better, good steel night sights, etc. My problem with the 9mm version I bought without the key lock, with night sights and mag safety (the only way you can get the other two options) was the trigger. While it felt acceptable in the shop it was absolutely unacceptable while trying to shoot paper. I had a very hard time hitting an 8" paper plate at 25 yards and I would have no problem hitting the same target consistently on my hind legs with the "G" guns any day of the week. I probably dry fired that gun in excess of 2000 times trying to learn to release that trigger without it dipping the muzzle down and I couldn't do it. They are exceptionally easy to do a trigger job on and everything else about the gun was perfect. I just sold mine and bought another 1911. There is a gunsmith who has instructions on his web sight for lightening the triggers and I'm sure you can find it doing a google search...I don't remember the guy's name or I'd post it. Hope this helps,
