870 this...
870 that...
:neener:
Lets see some non-870's
I'll start:
20043196200368176580274.jpg

Winchester 1300 with 22" smoothbore slug barrel (rifle sights) and 28" winchoke barrel.

More like non-870 gun porn is like non-human porn period. Haha, just kidding, nice Winchester. I was thinking of getting a 1200 soon.

I'd post a pic of my non-870 shotgun but this thread says porn. Putting a pic of a Mossberg 395 up in a gun-porn thread would be like having rosie o'donut do real porn.:barf:

:D

Rosie O? Porn? (Hack,wheeze,sputter)....

Your Winchester looks like a nice GP setup. Just so you know, the ones I've fired that were privately owned never glitched.

In institutional settings 870s will work longer under abusive conditions and zero maintenance, but no shotgunner I know treats his shotguns thus.

I like 870s, but by the Eternal I'll not sneer at any reliable, US built pumpgun now made. All of the Big Four are VERY good shotguns.

And feel free to post pics.

Lets not forget, the Army and Marines have been using
the Mossberg 590A1 with heavy wall barrel and metal
trigger guard and safety button for a number of years now.

Bought one about 6 months ago. $400 NIB with Ghost Ring
sights and Speed Feed stock. I'm in the process of having
it threaded for choke tubes right now.:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

I'll play... just ignore that thing on the bottom!

From the top:

1922 Winchester Model 12 12ga.

1930 Browning Auto-5 16ga. (short chambers and all)

And not to be left out:

1957 Remington 870 20ga.

They are ALL great guns! BTW, both the A-5 and the 870 are built on the 12ga frames. Additionally, every one sports a 28" barrel with a fixed FULL choke. This makes them a little heavier than they would be if built to scale, but they do handle quite nicely indeed.

The 20ga in particular is a joy to carry for a long day of chasing ringnecks. The Browning probably weighs as much as a 12ga, but there's something "just right" about the shape of the stock and receiver that makes it very comfortable to carry at port arms for extended periods of time.

870 this...870 that...
No camera , no pics, and I have thrown all pics I had away...of me, guns, hunting, competing , family and everything else.

So if someone has pics of the following , will show I'm not a 870 snob. I just became older, quit competing, and settled down. I have given away all the Competition guns, barreled sets and combos. Mulitple gauges in many and /or Multiple copies...etc. NON 870's...

Pumps:
1300's , Model 12, Model 42, Ithaca 37, JC Higgens, BPS

Semi's:
Super X model 1 , Rem. 1100, Beretta 303, Win 1400,

O/U:
Citori, Win 101, Rem 3200, Perazzi, Kreigoff, Ruger , Beretta, SKB, Pendersoli.

SxS:
311, Wesley Richards, Win, Beretta, Parker

Single Shot:
H&R, NEF, Stevens, Stoeger, Bonita, Beretta ( Backpacker)

I'm a equal opportunity shotgunner :D

I probably left off some. I only had some for a short time. For instance the 3200s...bought Two 3200s and a 1100 after a tournament, next tournament I sold them. Had a pocket full cash back then, and knew folks that wanted stuff. :p I also walked in a bought five 1300s one day, he only had 4 870s and not wanting to buy him "dry" walked out with 8 guns leaving him with one each of the 1300 and 870.

Not gonna say what I have, and folks would be a bit surprised as to the guns I just gave away. Yeah I sold a few along the way.

Just have my druthers on some things. Learned a few things along the way. Of course I still use the cast iron to cook with that is ...well some older than me. Have newer stuff...just druthers I guess. ;)

And here's another. This time in 20ga. SM, I have to admit that the above gun is just part of my stolen gun porn collection, downloaded for free from the Auction sites. The below gun I found at a pawn shop. It was dusty and the stock was busted. I took it home, fed it, gave it a bath, and now keep it nice and cozy.

Not a very good pic, but well, my digital camera sucks and it wasn't a pleasant day. But sure, why not?:

mossbergm590A1.JPG

Mossberg 590A1, the 18.5 inch barreled police version.

I don't have a picture, but I like my Mossberg 835 much better than my brother in law's 870 Wingmaster.

I prefer the tang safety.

The best pump I've ever used was a Winchester model 12 with either a modified or full fixed choke. At choke tubes to that and a changeable rifled barrel for sabot slugs and I'd be happy. It would break down to a nice little suitcase for travelling too.

Carbon_15, How do you like your FP6? I bought one a couple of months ago and I really like it so far. How is the finish holding up on yours? Have you had any issues with fouling in the barrel being somewhat...stubborn? Thanks for any info....and nice pictures.

I sense allot of 870 envy in this thread :) I just got a 870 Express Synthetic with 28" barrel today for my birthday. Along with a luninox watch and starlite rifle case :)
