On a break free clp bottle there is this thin red tube taped on but it doesnt fit into the hole in the bottle. So what is the point of it? I feel kinda stupid asking this question but every bottle I buy has this red tube taped on and it never fits in the bottle itself.

I'd like to use it since oiling the gun from the bottle itself generally puts a big drop on the slide etc and occasionally runs somewhere I dont want.

I don't use that oil but If I had to guess I'd say it was to dip in the bottle so you can put the oil where you wanted it a little at a time.

It fits into the hole in the cap but you have to gently force it in. DO NOT squeeze the bottle while you are pushing the tube in. Stand the bottle on a hard surface and press straight down. Once I get it into the cap I leave it there. You can push it down into the bottle so only an inch is exposed and pull it back out if you need to reach into a tight place. It's made to be a tight fit so it doesn't come out when you squeeze the bottle. Use the tube Luke.

push it in real hard into the hole. i actually snapped mine off this weekend so be careful.

Be firm but gentle..........it will go in there. It WANTS to go in there. It NEEDS to go in there. But be careful - snapping off your straw is Very Bad.

It always fit in my Break-Free bottles. It might help to slice it off at an angle with a sharp knife.
