While making the usual rounds through some local shops, I came across an interesting O/U that I had to check out. It was a Norinco Model 6 in 12 gauge, imported by Clayco. It was so hard to break open that I literally had to put it over my knee. It had bright bores, and the insides still had the factory grease. The outside too was very clean, no handling marks to speak of.
Having never seen one, my initial questions are obviously in regards to the build quality of this gun. However, there is one other issue that I am concerned about. Where most O/Us I see have either a ventilated rib between the barrels or a solid piece of metal, the barrels of this gun were simply banded together at the muzzle, similar to some of the Baikal shotgun/rifle combination guns. Would this method of barrel attachment affect the stability of either barrel?
I appreciate anyone's firsthand experience with this model of shotgun, as I have not been able to find much myself.
