Does anybody know anything about this loading. It's the one with the elk on the front. It is not the Whitetail loading. Box states that it's going 2822 FPS.

When I saved a picture from the product page the file name is 308-win-150gr-oryx-complete, so I'm guessing it's loaded with their Oryx bullet, but I'm not positive. Norma customer service has been unresponsive to emails so I can't confirm.

I'm curious about accuracy and terminal performance and how it differs from the Whitetail.

I wish I could answer your inquiry, but my internet search came up with very little info.

I also do not consider Elk Medium game... and frankly I couldn't find anything saying it was a Oryx bullet.

I have no experience with any of the Norma hunting rounds. I can say that the Norma TAC 150Gr 308 rounds shoot very accurate in my Savage Model 12 though. If the Norma hunting rounds are anything like their 308 YAC rounds, then they should be accurate.

Looking at Norma's website and reading the specs for both rounds, I don't see any difference between the two. Both are listed at 2789 fps and 2590 ft. lbs.

That's odd. My box doesn't say medium game on it, otherwise it looks identical. My box says 2822 FPS. Even has the same UPC. I bought this box about a year ago. Maybe they've altered the loading slightly since then, or maybe they overestimated the velocity a little bit and have since corrected it.

Norma very well could have made corrections or changes to the round itself. I also noticed that they don't make the 150Gr TAC FMJ anymore either, it is now 147Gr.

Yesterday I was able to find both versions for sale on the net with the “Medium Game” version being considerably more expensive. I’ve been unable to duplicate that result today, which seems odd. Norma only lists one hunting load for 308 - 150 grain bullets. Perhaps it was an older lot?

in any case this shoots very well out of one of my rifles and is cheap if you look around and are patient, and you end up with Norma brass that you can reload.
