Anybody got a North American Arms Mini-22 revolver with the belt buckle? The big rodeo champion belt buckle that is. I've wanted one since I first heard of them many years ago. Actually had one for a while, but I was doing a lot of trading back then and someone wanted it more than I did. I figured I'd trade into another one soon. I don't think I've ever seen another one.

When I was a kid I had a Mattel "shooting star" rig that had a single-shot derringer in the belt buckle that you were supposed to be able to push out your gut and the gun would pop out and fire. Never worked right for me. The gun would go flying across the room. But it was COOL!

The NAA buckle is too. I know the gun isn't much as a gun, but they are "cute." I can't imagine actually wearing the buckle, at least not with my donelopped gut. I'll bet that would be uncomfortable as the dickens. Still, with my boots, hat and bandanna...might be time to head on down to the drugstore. Oh, that's right. Drugstores don't have soda fountains any more. Do they? At least not around here.

I've got one on layaway at Buds. With the little 22 LR revolver. Probably get it out next week. Might never fire it, but I like "cute" guns.

Sorry, I don't have a picture of it yet, but I'll bet someone else does. :)

I dont have the Rodeo buckle. I do have one of the skeleton buckles.

I too had the Matty Matel rig with the derringer as a kid. I seem to remember mine worked, but that was quite a while back. The first thing to go with that set was the Bowie knives when we started "fighting" with them. Then the bullets, once the old man started stepping on them in his bare feet. :)

Heres the skeleton version for the NAA. I really only wear mine at family things, mostly just to annoy the antigun relatives. :)

ETA: Shoot too! :)

They are fun to shoot, and they shoot a lot better than you usually hear too, once you figure them out.

Thanks for that picture of the skeleton buckle @trackskippy
I have not seen that one before. That one looks much more comfortable than the trucker buckle models. They are thick, like an inch thick.
I saw the second one down in the post by @jmorris above at a gun show recently. There was no price on it as the guy just had it on display.

Thanks JM. The one I ordered, at least the picture on the website, is like the second one you've got pictured. I'm 99.9% sure I'll never actually wear the buckle, I just wanted it for grins and giggles so to speak. I'm sure I will shoot the gun at least a few times for the same reason.

I had one of those Mattel Belt Buckle "Shootin' Shell" Derringer toys, too. :) No clue where I lose it along the way.

I still have an old Nichols "Firing Shell" toy Derringer, in "been played with" shape, but the hammer still holds in SA. Don't have any of the 3 piece shells, though.
Pic grabbed from online (scroll down to Derringer):

I just wish I'd have known to keep all those Mattel toy guns, as I had a lot of them. They were a favorite Christmas toy, especially since my dad was a serious TV Western & Detective fan (and formerly worked on a couple ranches in TX and CO), and wanted me to have all the toy guns.

FWIW, I always tried to get the Shootin' Shell tips in yellow, as the grey was too easily lost in the grass and bushes, and even indoors (in shadows under furniture, etc). I was always spending my allowance on Greenie Stik-M-caps and roll caps.

Never had an urge for the NAA belt buckle. Even though I could've owned one here in CA as a cop, it wouldn't have been allowed under policy (off-duty weapon visible to the Public), to say the least. 🤣 I'd have been worried about the NAA coming loose at the most inopportune time, too. (Yes, even though it's not made like the old toy belt buckles. :neener: )

I have to say, I have come very close to buying one a couple times. I suppose the impracticality, size & weight make the reality that I wouldn’t actually wear it has so far slightly out weighed the cool factor that makes me want one.

Yeah a really compact pistol in a hubcap of a belt buckle doesn't really do it for me either. I don't mind looking at photos of them though.
