My compliments to Mr. Seecamp. It's unusual to see a firearms designer/owner post on a public forum like this AND be so straight forward about their product(s) and service. My hat is off to you sir.

I agree that Larry Seecamp's posting and attitude is exemplary and a welcome addition to the forum.

Larry,

When are the 380 Seecamps going to hit California and will they also be $100 more than your regular 380 Seecamps (putting them around the $900-1000 range)?

Or am I guestimating too high of a price?

My experience was similar to Kevin's about 7 years ago. I was disappointed but moved on and got something else. I know Seecamps are fine pistols but some have problems like other manufacturers.

Hi Jacktec,

Do you polish by hand or use a dremel? Also what compound did you use? Thanks.

Kevin
I used some green polishing compound although I think the red jewelers rouge would work as well. I dremeled the ramp but because the barrel is fixed and the hammer is somewhat in the way (I was too lazy to break it down) I polished the chamber by hand. I used a wooden dowel that I smoothed to the same diameter as the chamber to lightly polish it. It chambers and ejects much more positively and as I mentioned, it no longer stovepipes on the last round.

Prior to this thread I had only posted once on THR to express condolences on the passing of my friend Will Mattingly (Kentucky Rifle). I registered just for that purpose.

Will is remembered and missed.

I haven't posted here since as a matter of personal principle. I don't want to be caught up in the unseemly position of handing out business cards at a social event or in someone else’s gun store.

THR is a social gathering of independent minded gun aficionados who wonderfully share their experiences and opinions without reservation. The site doesn't need me to add my two cents.

Much of what I've read about our pistols and the company is myth; however, it is usually entertaining myth founded on exaggeration or unbridled fantasy ~ and myth cuts both ways. If I chime in to dispel one inaccuracy I'd have to do it each and every time or I'd be giving my blessing to those inaccuracies and occasional untruths that go unanswered. While I like THR, I don't intend to live here. I also have no interest in going out of my way to correct fabrications that add to the company mystique and accrue to our benefit. :)

It is, moreover, nice to be able to simply lurk without being a presence here. I've always enjoyed going to gun stores where I can anonymously browse and look at the wares without having the conversation drift to our pistols.

Since we now have our own LWS forum where anyone who wants to know what the real skinny is can ask me questions directly, I will go back to lurking.

I thank those of you who've offered your kind comments and also those who've had constructive criticisms that have given us the incentive to improve.

Regards,
Larry
