North Carolina Carry Permit Question

I plan to visit North Carolina occasionally to visit family, and NC does not honor my MN permit.
I'd like to get a NC permit, but
from reading what I've found about NC, it sounds like they do not issue permits to non-residents.
Is this the case?

Correct. No non-resident permits issued from NC.

Get a Utah non-resident and you're good here in NC. There are several others, but thats the first one I can think of at the moment.

Get a non-resident license from New Hampshire. $20 for 4 years.

I believe Utah requires a course. NH is pretty easy.

NH requires a copy of your home state's permit and a check for $20, along with the application. Not much easier than that.
