First off thanks to those who answered my Webley questions regarding the MkI (I believe) that I've got that belonged to my grandfather. It was bored out for .45ACP and had a cylinder failure. It's a wonder my grandpa got out of it with little more than a couple of scratches.

The "blow up" event took place decades ago, long before I was around. It was something that always bothered my grandfather (being an engineer and a stickler for "right"), and he kept the gun as a reminder. Years and years later it's mine, some of the "junk" no one else wanted.

I'm still holding on tightly to my Minox and only bought a junky digital cam to take pictures of surplus car parts for e-bay, but attached are a couple of pics of the gun. The frame is cracked. I found an interested "cut away" Webley for sale. The frame on that one was machined to show the inner workings, but the barrel and cylinder were untouched. Possible to weld up this frame and use parts for a gun like that? Or just keep looking for a complete speciman? If anything from this could be saved I'd really like to do that.

Every part it seems on this gun is marked with the British broad-arrow. Lower left of the frame is marked "Webley MkI Patents". There are "crown" marks and "WD" in a couple of places. Under one crown mark it looks like "B9" or "89".
