Oils from your fingers can change the weight of the check by themselves and they can lead to oxidation which will also change the weight. This is much more the case with brass check weights.
 
Dang old fingers!! Most of us "experienced" reloaders have tweezers, Magnifying glass, extra light, etc already on the bench and have needed the same for years I am afraid.:eek:
 
Good question..I thought it was so they could have something cheap to throw in for free..

Yes, to prevent contamination of the weights. For what it may, or may not be worth, larger precision weight sets are handled with cotton gloves.

I identify with y'all. I have probably 10 pairs of readers all over the house and loading bench. Yet I still lose them! :cuss:

They tweezer thing makes me feel a little like a mad scientist when I use them! bwahahahahah! ITS ALIVE, ITS ALIVE!
