There are two types of factory plastic grips for the Taurus PT 92 (decocker model).

Here are the front faces -- older type on the left, newer on the right:

And here are the back sides:

If you decide to replace your factory grips, make sure to use the correct type. If you have a pre-2000 decocker model with separate grip screw bushings, the newer type (on the right) are going to be loose. They're apparently designed for the newer grip screws that thread directly into the frame.

I like the simplified "bull" logo on the newer grips, but these are much flimsier than the older version. The older grips can be put on a new pistol, but not the other way around.

I’m not sure how old my 92 is, I bought it used. I bought these grips off EBay from a Taiwan seller. They were easy to install. The Taurus 92 is a great gun BTW.

There's a further detail regarding these grips, of which I've become aware. The "older" type (on the left, in the OP picture) exists in two distinct variations. They can be told apart by the presence or absence of the word "Brasil" [sic] in the circular logo. The ones marked "Brasil" are considerably heavier and more rigid. They're also rarer and more valuable.

The right panel of these grips will work in the non-decocker model of the gun. The left panel won't, because the screw hole spacing is different.

Good to know.

I have only a pair of old, nice checkered rubber Hogues (not the monogrips, two separate panels with the Spegel-type checkering) but I've kept the stock grips on it since... oh, 1991 or so.

I think that more of the early Tauruses came from the factory with wooden grips than with plastic / rubber grips. After all, exotic wood is plentiful in Brazil.

Looking at your picture, I'm reminded that the Taurus lanyard ring (hammer spring cap) is interchangeable with the Beretta, except that the ring itself is rotated 90 degrees.

On the post-2000 guns (see DDDWho's gun, above), Taurus eliminated the lanyard ring. This change came about at roughly the same time that they added the TSS (Taurus Security System) lock at the back of the grip, as well as the accessory rail. (All detrimental changes, IMO.)
