I know the stock is different. I've got a Super Nova, and it's fitted with the comfortech stock. It can also be swapped out with the steady grip stock. The Nova allows you to add a mercury recoil reducer in the stock, but can't be upgraded to the steady grip or comfortech stock. The receivers are also different, but I don't know what the main differences are.

The Novas' stock and reciever are one piece and a few have had problems with them cracking just above the grip area. Apprently due to stress of heavy recoil. I havnt seen this but it seems to be one of the concerns. Also the forearm rattles alot in the early model Novas. That might have been fixed. I like the slimmer design of the Nova but like the options to change stocks on the Super. Plus the comfortech is nice. The trigger guard might not appeal to some on the Supernova but you'll appreciate it in cold weather if you wearing heavy gloves.

About a year ago I pondered between the two. In the end, I ended up buying another good old Rem 870. The Benellis were just to clunky and thick in the stock for me. Of the two though, I would pay the extra for the Supernova. You could also look at a Stoeger. Their model is basically the same as the Nova and is significantly cheaper.

I did the same as Shaggy when I was looking for a pump gun. I liked the slimness of the Nova, but the stock options of the Super Nova. In the end I stumbled upon a very nice used Wingmaster and never looked back.

Is it worth it?

Yes.

IMHO- Besides price, I absolutely do not see any advangtage to owning a Nova vs. the SuperNova. The ability to swap stocks alone is worth the extra $100. But, the differences (particularly in quality) go beyond that.
