Now why did I do that? Vol. 4, Ch. 7

I can see it happening to me in the future. Wanting to do a little snap cap training with the 1911 .45ACP I grad the snap cap mag and can't chamber the snap cap. Get mad about it and say a few words. Then realize, I grabbed the 9mm 1911.
You can see it happening to you in the future??? It sounds to me like "the future" has arrived. :D
Just kidding around, PistoleroWadcutterGANG. I turned 75 this year, and "the future" for me is getting smaller and smaller in my rear-view mirror. ;)

I woke up to read I had placed five bids on GunBroker on various pieces that belong in the same bag as my beagle's... morning walk.

Including a Bryco!

Then I remembered my contractor buddy had sent me pictures of a gun he found in a divorced woman's garage and she gave it to him. I had decided I wanted a new gun project as well.

(Lost the Bryco- it went for $105)

Sounds like you won, my friend :)

My brother was given a Bryco Nine, but in (incomplete) parts. He gave it to me and I was able to order the couple pieces that were obviously missing, pretty cheaply I might add - but it took me quite a while to get that stupid thing to run right. Finally found that an unobvious part was still missing and eventually got it to fire 2 complete mags. Ended up giving it to my son when he moved out, with strict instructions to buy something decent as soon as he could. He has offered it back to me a couple of times since then, nah LOL

Ha! That reminded me of one of my sons. When he got married I said, "Which one of my rifles do you want." He chose this:

Kidding around, I told him if he got tired of it.....I'd take it off his hands. Like that would ever happen. Funnest shooter I had, so why'd I offer it? It, especially, needed a new owner with lots more shooting ahead of him....afraid I'm winding down. ;)

This exact thing resulted in my flip case method. At the end of my process they are flash hole up and I bring them in the house. When they are primed they are base down ready to get powder.... I've made that mistake once, never again.

I do a similar flip method.

Mouth up, size/deprime, place back in tray upside down. This lets me know all cases are sized/deprimed.
Flip all cases back over so their mouth up.
Prime/flare case, place back in tray upside down. Now I know all cases are primed/flared.
Flip all cases again.
Drop powder, weigh powder, charge case, seat bullet. Place round back in tray. Repeat for next round.
Finally, crimp round, place completed round in tray upside down. Repeat for each round.

On topic, I find stuff all the time, and wonder why did I put that there, or when did I buy that. Bullets, die sets, shell holders, you name it. And it goes past just reloading.

I think someone has sneaking into my shop and hiding stuff like the pound of powder I just bought. I am starting to suspect the cat she has been acting suspiciously of late.
Kittens are real cute. Until they start hunting your primer trays. Then you realize why cats are the most dangerous animals on earth.

The other day I was getting ready to refill my hand primer. Slid the sleeve off the primer tray. Hear a knocking on mt front door. Go answer it to find a couple religious freaks trying to convert me to their "better" religion. I said a few bad words and generally caused the smoke and sparks to erupt from my normally good natured self. They retreated only after I grabbed the double from beside the door and told them they were trespassing and to go NOW!!
Went back in sat down and proceeded to swipe the whole tray of primers onto the floor as I was reaching for them. For the rest of the morning I hunted on my knees with a flashlight and found 99 of them and 35 spent primers on the floor. I need to calm down some after dealing with idiots in the future.

I find answering the door naked works better for those people.

I once thought I was low on 40 brass, so I ordered 1000.
Not long after they came in, I found the 1000 that I was supposedly replacing.......dooooooh

June 15, 2019 I bought a XDm .40. Sold it yesterday. It’s not a 1911 or a P35 so why did I buy it? Big mistake.
I dodged one of those situations the other day. ;)

My buddy wanted to sell me his XD 9mm. For once, I actually said no. I figure the 14-15-odd polymer framed 9mm’s haunting my safes are enough. (I’m usually a pushover!) I think he was surprised I passed on it, but I just could not justify a purchase that duplicates so many others

Stay safe.
