Yesterday I received a couple of rather vile voicemail messages about my NRA affiliation and hoping for bad things for me and my family. Both calls had Caller ID blocked. I am a bit curious how these folks connected me to NRA and got my #, although I make no serious attempt to hide either. The callers never used my name, so the calls may have been blind-call spam. I am not feeling threatened by this silliness, just observng how emotionally unstable some folks are.
Has anyone else received such messages?

I'm not affiliated with the NRA, mostly because I never got around to it, but I am associated with being Pro 2-A.

My ex girlfriend and her friends, however? Oh boy.

I was getting gas when lo and behold, one of her friends recognized me. Maaaaaan, I just wanted gas.

She walks up and says "i bet you have a gun huh? I bet you're going to shoot me,etc etc etc." I don't even carry a gun in the car, i don't CC (even though incensed), I'm just an enthusiast like y'all. While I'm pumping, her friend walks out of the store, and throws her drink on my car. I just said "thanks for the carwash, the NRA approves" , got in my car and drove away.

They both said a few choice words, but I got harassed for liking guns.

Some time back I received one of those emails on how I felt about BLM. I voted for "terrorist organization". Shortly after I voted I started receiving hate emails calling me a racist and many other names. I just laughed it off and sent the information to my lawyer who handles such things much better than I. He forwarded it on to the appropriate agencies. Please don't misunderstand....I have at least 12 African American good friends. 3 of whom also received the same email and received the same kinds of hate emails after replying. A racist I am not and am actually "color blind" to ethnicity, until someone gives me a reason to act otherwise. I have never had any problems when proudly wearing my NRA bling. Same is true when I proudly wear my TSRA (Texas State Rifle Assoc.) bling.

I think a lot of the serious "NRA hate" comes from the gun community itself, which (rightfully) feels betrayed by NRA mismanagement.

The antis love to use the NRA as a whipping boy. Little do they know that in reality, the organization is on the ropes. I suppose it serves a useful purpose as the focus of the antis' misdirected anger.

And this is why I donate to the nra, and won't be a member any more. They are useless for protecting gun rights and won't lift a finger to restore rights lost or remove stupid, pointless, unenforceable or unenforced laws.
But when something happens they get all the blame, they're the lefts punching bag. And that in and of its self has great value.

I have gotten several phone calls from odd numbers or blocked numbers, but I didn't answer and my voice mail is full. Maybe I should and I would gladly tell them where to meet me as I could use the excitement.

And still, those same people can't understand why we exercise our 2nd amendment right for self protection and the protection of our loved ones.... Because they don't see themselves as unstable or their actions as threatening.
It's pretty crazy out there!

The NRA like the Commonwealth got on the ropes by making bad choices; the Commonwealth is moving to repair that but not so much with the NRA.

Concur on phishing.
There was a reported "hack" but it was of internal Executive Committee materials, and BoD communications.

Such things use "leading" cues, too. If you use a turkey call, it's not likely you get ducks showing up.

If the targeted number responds with "[Expletive], I'm not in the [expletive] NRA!" then the number is identified as a legit voice number. Using n emotionally -charged rant evokes a stronger response to the "phish." And, of course, the ranting was probably cathartic for the poor, oppressed person who made the call (or recorded it the one time).

"Gun Rights" are a hot-button issue, particularly from "our" point of view.

The phishing is next level. They’ll get you on long enough to get you saying your name and a couple of yes’s. They can record that, and then use it to phreak the automated systems of banks if they already have your social and relevant bank numbers.

Once Wayne and the BoD are gone, the NRA can be rebuilt. Until the members are willing to do this, Wayne the dictator and his commie cronies will continue to destroy the NRA!
We know this, but the antis apparently don't. They're focusing their vitriol on the NRA, as if it's the main reason guns haven't been banned. The antis misunderstand the gun world completely.

One of the things I enjoy least on any gun forum is reading about NRA bashing. I wish there was a separate forum for NRA hate that I could only visit when I wanted to. This would also narrow it down to who gets put on my ignore list.

It has been my choice to be an NRA member just it is your choice to be a gun owner. For heavens sake if we cannot help each other the least we could do is not hinder each other.

That's the thing, the NRA gets blamed for ALL gun violence, period!

Instead of standing up with a firearm in their hands and saying "from my cold dead hands"...

Maybe they should explain that part of the organization is about fighting for people's rights. That and if the 2nd Amendment can be taken away, so can every other Amendment.

As usual, the anti's change their tactics to get the sheeple to comply. The NRA can't see the forest for the trees.

Just a matter of curiosity; who, or what entity forced you to read this thread? If you're under duress give us a sign and we'll call the authorities.
A while back I was in a Barnes & Noble book store. While looking over the magazine section I saw several magazines on quilting. Quilting! I have no interest in quilting. My first instinct was to complain to the management. "How dare you have magazines I'm not interested in?!?!" Then, after I composed myself, I thought maybe it would be better to just read something else.

I read it because our phone rings off the hook with spam voicemail and found it disturbing that NRA hate voicemail has been added to this list. I'm not under duress. Maybe, if you need a little extra cash, you can join the NRA hate voicemail club. After all you seem to have no love of the NRA.

I was a member and staunch supporter at one time. Then they went rogue. You are right. I have no love for the NRA and, as I said above, I'm not convinced they are not currently doing more harm than good for gun rights.
As to robo calls; I categorize those who use robo calling, whether they be politicians, scammers, or legitimate businesses, only a small step above rapists and child molesters.

And I am sure you have found a lot better way to contribute to gun rights other than the NRA. Would you please be so kind to share the perfect alternative to the NRA?

I belong to other gun orgs. Hopefuuly I can get your blessings on those also.
