We at the NRA Museums really appreciate the kind words and are delighted that you all enjoy the exhibits!
I wanted to mention that we have a relatively new (and very spectacular, no false modesty) museum - the NRA National Sporting Arms Museum at Bass Pro Shops in Springfield MO. With over one million visitors in the first 3.5 years of operation, it is the most visited firearms venue in the country.
Exhibits include a timeline of four centuries of sporting arms in America, the best guns and art from the Remington Arms factory collection, the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Gallery, a 21 gun salute to America's Armed Forces, and guns owned and used by Presidents, champion shooters, Medal of Honor recipients, old west lawmen and outlaws, shooter showmen (and women), and European royalty.
Just last week, at the same location, Bass Pro opened a stunning new 300,000 square foot Wonders of Wildlife Museum, with over 1.5 million gallons of aquariums, zoological exhibits, and amazing wildlife dioramas. This destination is a very full weekend for a family trip, even if some of them are not enthusiastic firearms aficionados.
There is also a lovely jewel box of a museum at the NRA Whittington Center in Raton NM - the Frank Brownell Museum of the Southwest.
All three NRA Museums are open every day of the week with no admission charge (there is a charge for Bass Pro's Wonders of Wildlife Museum, worth every penny.)
These museums only exist because of the support and dedication of NRA Members, so a sincere thank you to those of you out there!
