and yet they can not get a stinking thing done all they are doing is fighting among themselves, it is sad as they have a rare opportunity to get some stuff done and yet they are tossing each other under the buss, the White House swamp is deep I don't trust it at all I bet that there are Republicans in the shadows that would be anti 2A if lobbyist handed them enough money, seems there are more Republicans bashing and road blocking our President then the other side,
:cuss::cuss: sorry for getting off topic just so much back stabbing in our Politics , many put money in front of our best interest even within their own party

I don't think they ever intend to get anything done. They just do this to give the illusion that they are doing something to justify the need for their job. Its that simple. The game has been played for a long time and its getting worse. The wool has been pulled over the eyes of the people of this fair country for decades. In other words, I think the government we have today has outlived its usefulness. I think half a century ago or so it was still viable and worked the way its supposed to, but today's fed it overgrown and is nothing more than a powerful leech that influences the everyday lives of us common folk to continue to amass its power and wealth. Here is a hint, false flag ops and wars are a great way to control people and unite them for a common purpose all at the same time. How many times do you think they have used that in the past 100 years? Just saying...with the people we currently have in place, the so called pro-2A supporters could change things drastically overnight, if they wanted to. They may have to rewrite some rules a bit to get some things done, but the options are there. They just won't do it because in reality very few of them actually care about us.

and that is the scary part, they will keep trying to produce bills into law that will someday really hurt us, I sometimes think the next few generations will not put up a fight to attempt to keep the 2A safe, I mean the collage and younger folks seem to care about electronics " smart phones and gaming" not a huge interest from the young ones, at least I do not see as many younger ones at the range, when I was young I could not wait to go shooting or fishing with dad ,
not sure that same level of interest it there with the up and coming young-ins, so I think 10 to 20 years from now the anti 2A movement may face much less resistance.
I try and take my Son and Daughter and who else "new shooters" shooting as much as I can and even talk about reloading as well ,
I pray my Son will be able to teach his kids to shoot and carry on the tradition for generation's to come

In some respects, I agree with you, it seems that the younger generation doesn't care. However, I am here to offer you a small glimmer of hope. For those young ones around me, middle aged and younger, there are quite a few that have shown interests in guns and shooting. Many have come to me and wanted me to take them shooting and teach them basically everything I know. So, its not all the younger generation, but I fear the number that doesn't care far outweighs the number that do. And for those of us who do still care, we grow tired of having to make these stands to protect our God given rights. Most of the younger generation have to work long/hard hours just to make ends meet these days as the dollar doesn't have as much buying power as it used to. As a result, the family unit suffers, the hobbies suffer because many cannot afford it financially or the time commitment. Do you see what I mean? its much cheaper to stay at home and watch Netflix. And without the expendable income that some previous generations had then there just isn't as many people that can do this kind of thing. Shooting is expensive. There is no way around it. I hope that gives you some hope. I know I am going out and doing everything I can personally do to get new people interested. The question is, is everyone else?

Money and power is what they are all about all parties in politics no doubt, that’s why the middle class has been shrinking for years, bleeding middle class dry ,
No doubt that the system is broken In almost all areas from government to schools it has become a train wreck
I worry often what kind of country my grandkids will grow up in,
Sorry for getting off topic guys

^^^I agree. How can we fix it to gain our 2A back and other things you mentioned? Obviously, the NRA seems to have been infiltrated to some degree or seen this as an opportunity to gain some degree of acceptance from those on the left that thought they were an evil organization. Their willingness to so-quickly off this up speaks volumes to me and the hint is I don't see it doing anything positive for any gun owners long term.

You going to have to convince me just what a bump stock has to do with the 2nd. I'm just a responsible gun owner, senior citizen, husband, father, grand father, registered voter and 6th generation American. I don't decide anything, I just vote and try to live productively. A device that circumvents gun laws and allows cowboys to make you tube videos to shown of the size of their member doesn't do any one any good. Bump stocks have no 2nd amendment value.

It doesn't circumvent anything, the machine gun law is explicitly clear and a bump fire stock is completely and totally legal and not an NFA item

The machine gun regulations are unconstitutional anyway.

Maybe read the Second Amendment and that ought to explain it to you? That part about infringing the Right of the people to keep and bear arms, you know?

I'm not going to elaborate on current situation or the future prospects on a public forums, but I will say this. The future international leadership and success belongs to countries that are able to reach peaceful settlements to tensions and conflict making environment fertile for economic development and international trade. There is no future for those escalating conflicts changing governments and sending military forces almost everywhere.
