Allegheny County police are looking for two masked suspects in a New Year's Eve fatal shooting outside a Wilkins apartment building.
Aaron Jobe, 34, of Penn Center Boulevard, was gunned down 60 feet from his sport utility vehicle after a fight with two men, police said yesterday.
Just after 8 p.m., Mr. Jobe left his home to meet his girlfriend in the parking lot of the Laurel Village Apartments. As they got into his vehicle, Mr. Jobe noticed someone tampering with a neighbor's pickup truck in the lot, police said.
Mr. Jobe confronted two masked men. One pulled a gun. Mr. Jobe ran but was shot in the leg. The bullet severed his femoral artery.
Mr. Jobe called 911 as he lay dying. Police would not reveal what he said.
The other suspect was armed with a hunting knife. He manhandled Mr. Jobe's girlfriend, but she escaped unharmed, police said.
