I recently picked up a used custom 6x45 on weaver action. I can get the OAL on the bullets up to 2.410 and still have some clearance in the magazine well. I think this is good thing as I have more room for powder, especiall with extruded type powders.

The 6x45 spec for OAL is 2.260, same as parent case 223 rem, so my questions is what sort of problems if any does this cause. I have read several post where folks with AR type rifles in 6x45 had OAL issues with bullets over 70 grains. I don't own any AR rifles so I can only assume my custom magazine well is just larger than a typical are magazine in 223???

Thanks

Chances are your rifle was originally built for another cartridge. If you went with a shorter OAL, you might have some feeding issues. However, having room for powder isn't a criteria. Follow your manual religiously.
