Obama's Plans to Disarm America....

Sounds more like an epitaph.

Be careful who you choose to stand behind and support. If you are unwilling to take care of yourself, you must take whatever care that comes along. I've yet to see a flock of sheep, no matter how well cared for and tended, that doesn't get fleeced from time to time and eventually end up on the dinner table. Not many sheep die a natural death. WOW, people here that and actually want to vote for him? I think i am just as afraid of the people who support him. How can they be OK with being defenseless in this mad world!

Keep in mind that with a Democratic Congress, and possibly a Democratic President, you will see dramatic changes at all levels.
...Especially the Supreme Court, that will affect this county for generations.
15% of the voters this time around were not able to vote in the last election. They are not savvy about the history not only of this country, but world history as well.
...Idealism is strongest where history is absent.

Holy Crap! That guy is insane. I wasn't going to vote for anyone, but this might get me out to vote for Mccain. Why is everyone comparing this guy to Kennedy . Kennedy ran on the "Missile Gap" and wanted to expand the presence of nuclear weapons. Obama is living inside a freaking bubble. In a world where terrorist groups and third world countries are trying to obtain nuclear weapons and developing countries are trying to build ballistic missiles why would we want to scale back and make meaningless treaties that everyone including the U.S. will surely break.

But there are gun owners who won't vote for John McCain or who won't vote at all because they think they're sending some kind of message.

sooo??????
who is going to enforce his nuclear weapon/ fissile material/ weaponized space ban?????? :banghead:

Is China going to agree to that? oh wait, I forgot, they already tested offensive satellites, Iran is already manufactured fissile material, and Russia, China, England, France, Israel, Pakistan, India, and more than likely North Korea already have nuclear weapons. Good luck with that one Obama. :banghead:

Oh, and I love how we should dismantle the missile defense program because it costs too much. I don't see him saying that about medicare or social security. And giving presents on the order of millions of barrels of oil to countries like North Korea to stop building nuclear weapons is not cheap either. :banghead:

:banghead:

I don't see him saying anything about guns...?

Ya, but everything he said he would do would weaken America's military. I don't understand how what he said in that video is good in anyway and that makes it hard to believe that anyone would like the ideas he has.

I think too many have forgotten about him.

I thought that he was doing a lot better than Hiliary recently?

I currently don't see a single candidate worth voting for. That's what scares me the most.

I just read the same discussion about Obama on another forum:Pennsylvania Firearm Owner's Association

I'll give the same reply I gave there:

"At Thermoplyae, 1,000,000 Persians lost 20,000 yet failed to disarm just 300 Spartans. 80,000,000 lawful Americans would resist even harder. THAT WE PROMISE!"

Even if Obama could manage a nationwide disarming of law-abiding citizens, he would be met with such a powerful resistance that another Revolution would be created in this country.

P.S. Doesn't this seem like something that should be posted in "Legal And Political," rather than in this forum?

Peace in our time, woohoo!

Translated: Let's transfer as much DoD spending to domestic welfare programs as we can get away with.

I always find it interesting how deeply the Cold War Threat seems to have influenced the thought patterns of everyone older than about 40 or so. Thermonuclear war, zomg! The policy decisions and public outcry we see now is the direct product of half a century of scare tactics-both legitimate and otherwise. Today I happened to read a piece in Analog that shrieked about the dangers of nuclear winter from a limited nuclear exchange (ostensibly, Pakistan and India). Long on speculation, not once in the entire article did the author mention or even acknowledge awareness of the fact that there have already been hundreds upon hundreds of atmospheric tests conducted. According to one source, there were 139 devices detonated worldwide in 1962 alone (96 American, 40 Soviet, 2 British, 1 French). Point being, basically no one in the mainstream media seems to have a comprehensive intellectual grasp off nuclear weapons (not unlike their knowledge of firearms, come to think of it). People think they're scary, and thus we find ourselves with asinine rhetoric coming from people trying to gain power. What would be really frightening is if he means it.

When you have a person like Obama whos been billing himself, and the press has as well, as the next coming of JESUS/JFK/Elvis/name a religious deity its no wonder so many uninformed people are voting for him.

If you look at the facade and NOT the stupidity here, he doesnt seem so bad. Not untill you realize that if he gets into office, your great great great grandchildren will be paying off his tax hikes, social programs, and probably cival war reparations to black people.
Dont laugh, Last time i checked Oprah was a big massive supporter of civil war raperations, and shes a huge component of the "elect obama" circus. SO just you pay attention now.

And here is the icing on the cake. All his foreign policy advisors are from the carter administration. Carter was a pro at dealing with crazy iranian muslims, what could possibly go wrong?

And it gets better! Look at what kind of supreme court judges we get:
We need somebody who's got the heart, the empathy, to recognize what it's like to be a young teenage mom. The empathy to understand what it's like to be poor, or African-American, or gay, or disabled, or old. And that's the criteria by which I'm going to be selecting my judges.

I quoted this to a bunch of conservative McCain haters today and when they came out of shock, they all said they wanted to vote for McCain in November. Obama's winning hearts and minds on both sides of the aisle.

Wow, this nutcase is SCARY. So missile defense gives us an unfair advantage so he wants to get rid of that. Not to mention from the video clip he considers everything that DARPA has given to us in the last 40 years is unfair so DARPA is no more. His fissile material ban means that nuclear power would no longer exist(@ least in the US), so Russia and the Middle East would basically control the world economically. Civilian Board to determine REAL future military needs(WOW, this guy would be worse then good ole Neville). Heck I can remember when the libs wanted us to get out of the supercarrier business and only operate escort carriers, because they were less threatening(Gary Hart). And Hart @ least had some knowledge of defense matters, I can only guess who would be the geniuses he would appoint(Nader, Carter, Biden might be the only halfway competent big Liberal and that is a stretch.) Heck one of the biggest reasons for the current Raptor (F-22) debacle is because of Gephardt. Thank God for Nunn, or else we would have been in real trouble during those years, and thus today. This looks like a return to the dark days of the thirties.

I guess he wants the US military to once again be a second rate thing dieing from atrophy. I can only guess that useless defense spending he is talking about the NSA by reading between the lines of this video, it is so unfair to do what they do.

I'm a bit to young to have lived through it, so I may be showing my ignorance and naiveté, but does anyone (any American) remember fondly the Carter administration? On the very rare occasion that Sen. Obama does actually say something of substance, it comes out like crazy talk.

That said, at least the money he plans to take from the DoD will be well spent on American education. We'll have to hire thousands of new teachers to show our children the proper position to assume.

I see Obama as a second Jimmy Carter (He slashed several DOD programs while in office) Not another JFK.

I do have to concede, not all of what he said would necessarily be bad. Slowing advanced military developments and cutting off a non functioning missile defense program (recent news sounds like we are close to a functioning missile defense program) sounds like an attempt to avoid a cold war part deux, (we are currently headed into that) I'm not sure the economy is strong enough for another cold war. We outspent the Russians once, If we try it again with the Chinese and the Russians (who can't afford it) we run the risk of ending up almost as crippled as the Russians are now.

As for Iraq, Until I hear a lot of news that suggests that Iraq is approaching self sustainability (from a military and economic standpoint) I don't think we should be so bold as to say "I will end the war" , Nixon ran on that platform with Vietnam (look how well that ended)

This is a little to political according to the forum rules so I will add this,

I just finished a FAL build on a DSA receiver, I can't wait to see how it works.
