RE; post 13, About 6mo the police chief of Daytona Beach Florida: Mike Chitwood had a incident at the OIA(Orlando Intl Airport) where he left a small pistol in a carry on bag by mistake. Chief Chitwood is a good cop & leads from the front. He was just careless and it led to his incident. The Orlando PD had recently changed the formal SOP for airline passengers who brought handguns into the airport. Citizens with valid CCWs(W licenses) & off duty LE officers just have the guns confiscated & they get a court date/hearing later. Most offenders just pay a small fine & that's that.
I do agree that screening all your cases & bags before any trip is smart.
Not just for travel plans but for anything that involves guns & ammunition, I would add the wisdom of tactics trainer; James Yeager; don't get in a rush. That's when you get mishaps, lose stuff & get stress.
