All right folks, tomorrow's the official National Ammo Day!

A bunch of folks at AR15.com are getting together to have a nationwide coordinated Wal-Mart ammo buy (see this thread for details).

Since Wal-Mart tracks all sales centrally live and attempts to determine threads, the purpose of this coordinated buy is to cause some shenanigans with some poor middle-manager.

As it says from the AR15.com thread:
November 19th, 3:30pm CENTRAL TIME (adjust your timezone).. At your local Wal-Mart
4:30PM Eastern (NYC)
3:30PM Central (Chicago)
2:30PM Mountain (Denver)
1:30PM Pacific (Los Angeles)

They're mostly "aiming" to buy out as much of the Winchester White Box ammo as they can, but obviously buying whatever calibers you want/need is encouraged as well.

And, it being National Ammo Day, you should be buying ammo anyway.

Just thought I'd bring this interesting tidbit here. Enjoy!

It works out that I need a few boxes anyway, so maybe I'll swing in to wallyworld on the way to visit the parents.

Nothing like feeling a little silly every once in a while! :neener:

I won't buy from Walmart, but if I remember, I will order some Hydra-Shoks.

I've been keeping up with the ammo day over the last few years and am still confused as to why Wal-Mart and why WWB...

Ahhh... Thinking of an effective economic awareness program... _trying_ to sell out a few places from ammo is interesting, but...

I got an idea.

Walk in, buy a fire extinguisher, a smoke alarm, or batteries for your smoke alarm, and tell the clerk that you think of 'em just like a gun... a safety tool.

i still don't know who the genius was that thought ammo day on a saturday during deer season was a bright idea, but...

I completely agree... Maybe if I have time saturday night after opening day has come to a close i'll swing over. But I make no promises.

job- exactly... if we tag out in the morning (possible, but unlikely w/ 9 tags) i'll stop and pick up something - but typically by the time we are done and back in a town where there's a wal-mart its late and we're tired...

Wal-Mart tracks their nationwide inventory live through their inventory management system.

As for WWB, it was simply because it's a common, inexpensive ammunition that Wal-Mart stocks.

As for Wal-Mart hatred, in my mind "shenanigans > hatred" in cases like this. :)

I used to think that Wal-Mart was evil until I worked for Kroger for 6 months.Kroger is the devil  in the retail industry. They are an evil corporation who would just as soon pay everybody minimum wage. This 6 month stint was after a transfer from one of their divisions who sadly has now been "krogerized" and is also now an evil company to work for.Trust me people Kroger is the real

I got better things to do with my time than trying to screw with some middle manager's head.

Code:
 	Don't they have jobs?

No bogie, it's lives they ain't got.

I buy rimfire at Walmart as a last resort or if someone drags me there with them.

It's my turn to work this Saturday as well, so Sunday I plan on buying at least 8lbs of gunpowder at the Allentown gun show instead. And probably some rimfire too if they have those nice shooting Aguila bricks again. Forget WWB and Walmart...when is Reloader's Day? :neener:

Boy, you guys are really gonna teach Wal Mart a lesson. They'll cry all the way to the bank.;) :banghead:

It is tough being at the bottom of the totem pole with any company. My Wife works in the second to the smallest Kroger Store in the Company. She has been there 12 years and makes decent money for a part time person (30 hours per week)with full family medical, dental, and eye insurance. Her insurance is much better than my Fire Department low bid insurance.

She wins the 25.00 customer service certificates all the time. Kroger also sent us on a all expense paid five day four night trip for four to Disneyland last year.
