You all have no idea how much this pains me. O.K, so I don't actually "HATE" Glock, I just don't like them and don;t shoot them well, but, I have a conundrum.

I'm a loyal subject of California. First off, NO, I can not move. Child custody issues. I just can't as much as I may want to.

I want a 10MM Semi Auto so bad I can taste it. The California Praetorians have issued an edict that we loyal subjects may only purchase weapons deemed by the secret council to be safe and on their sacred scroll.

I am limited to 2 made by Kimber, and 2 Made by Glock. If I want to go revolver, the Praetorians generously allow me to have a S&W 610.

This would be a fun gun only. Just to have a 10MM you see. Spending good coin of the realm on a fun gun, I don't want to invest a small fortune. See where this is leading me?

I may be forced to eat a heaping steaming plate of crow and buy a.... Gl....OCK!!!.

So, what is the going price of a Glock 20? I think that's the model in 10MM.

If any kind soul currently imprisoned in my state would take pity on me and sell me a S&W 10MM at a reasonable price, I would be oh so greatful.

About $550-$600 here in CO.

I feel your pain, man. I collect 10mm handguns, which means sooner or later I'll have to buy a G20 and G29. Thought about it this year with tax money, but decided it was better spent on a S&W M&P .45.

Let us pray..

The dark clouds have opened up and the blinding rays of sunlight has blanketed over you.

Welcome my child to the many wonders of Glock.

Not only are you baptized with the high quality of polymer and tennifer, but you will be baptized into the discipleship of Gaston Glock.

Clense yourself my child by picking up your 10mm Glock model 20/29 and continue on preaching the word of Glock.

Hallelujah, Hallelujah. Praise him!!! Praise him.

Anyways...they run $470-500 if you join GSSF. http://www.gssfonline.com/

What's wrong with the Kimbers? Too expensive?

Yes, well, more than I want to pay for a fun gun. I am a big Sig fan, so I'm used to paying big bucks, but for this one, I'd prefer to keep costs under control.

Dan Wesson?

They fell of the Scroll of approved handguns. I should have acted sooner, but I suspect price was going to be an issue as well.

You're going to make me suffer aren't you? :D

I know, I know, I left the door open. :banghead:

Just pulling your chain M.

I'm actually thinking of picking up a G20 in OD Green also.

Let's make it a race on who gets it first, and have some range time at Angeles or at the Burbank Firing Line.

I also feel your pain. I want a really small, reliable 9mm for carry and the Kel-tec P11 I just bought failed in the "reliable" department. So, the G26 is haunting me. I want the XD9 subcompact but the G26 is smaller. Dang it!:banghead:

Like the 17, the 20 was designed from the ground up for the caliber it is chambered in. That's why you don't hear that many issues with them (although one still needs to be careful of reloads).

My first experience with the 20 was when a friend (who was rather portly) had ran through the two pistols I'd seen him with. He had been open carrying a 20 in his belt, disguised by the rolls (did I mention he was portly?) and when I walked away, he drew and fired 16 rounds of Silvertips in about 3 seconds. Talk about getting one's attention. He's now in Alaska, and that 20 serves as bear/two legged critter protection.

Kahr PM9 (or CW9 if money is an issue)

I feel your pain, I use to own three Glocks but am done to one. (OD G17). But, if I was looking to buy a 10mm I would also go the Glock route. Cost effective and easy to obtain.

I know, it must have been all of the recent Glock vs The World threads :neener:

Seriously, there's nothing wrong with Glocks. They are great tools.

Its the Kool Aid drinkers who think that Glocks are superior to every other gun ever made and anybody that doesn't shoot them well doesn't know how to shoot.
As long as you don't become one of "them", you'll be OK.

I guess you could count me in as one who "hated" Glocks. I tought bout getting one but could not get over the polomer thing. Well I made the mistake of renting a g26 at my local range...and got the bug. I am now the proud owner of a new g26. The gun shoots point of aim and at 500 rounds has not jammed yet. I use mine as a back up to my CZ PCR. I now have to admit that I was wrong bout the Glock. It is a good gun for a decent price and I would reccomend people take a closer look before making the decision to "hate".

That must be it. I've been infected. :) It's not a thing against polymere, hell I own 4 Polys already. It's just the Glock never felt right in my hand and my groups were... well... hardly groups. More like I'd just shot a 12Ga at the paper.

Still, I'm pretty darn determined to have a 10MM while I still can.

I know about seven different people who will plaster my car with Glock stickers and harass me unmercifully if I go through with this.

The only thing worse is if I actually shoot it well. Lord help me!

I'd take that Grayguns P220ST 10MM, but that thing cost some serious bucks.

You'll Put Your Eye Out!

Your new G20 will no doubt serve you very well!

Loaded with premium Double Tap ammo, you'll be well into .357 magnum country! With the whole sixteen shots thingy! And a nice slide to eat up the recoil! That's a beautiful thing!

Do try the Double tap 135 grain Noslers: 1600 fps with 767 ft/lbs!

If you ever want, the G20 easily converts to .40 S&W and .357 Sig calibers too!

You may want to replace the stock sights. Consider AmeriGlo Operators...

All's well that ends well, and I'm glad you finally came around!

I'll watch for your first range report!

I'm in California as well.

I had a good reason to buy a Glock 29, my first 10mm pistol. The caliber is very appealing, at least to me.

I decided to get another 10mm pistol made exactly as I wanted it. So, I bought a 1911A1 that was imbued with "Kali safety" and sent the frame to a gunsmith.

Not a cheap path, but the gun will have every feature I want. The gun should arrive in a week or two, after a four month wait. Good chance of becoming my primary carry.

You may wind up doing something similar once you experience the 10mm.

And harass you they should!

Don't do it, man. Don't fall prey unto the dark side!

Get the S&W 610!! IT SHOOTS .40 TOO!! Two guns in one!
