Lets say I oiled and cleaned my AR about a week ago and put it in its case, then I opened it today and it has little circular "sweat" marks on different places...its not water, but oil. Is this bad and should I wipe it off, am I doing something wrong?!

Thanks!

To clarify: I didn't oil the outside of the gun, but the lower has sweat spots by the safety and other areas.

same with my friend's AR - he's too lazy to clean his so i took it home with me (always want to learn something new) to clean it. Anyway, i see the sweat spots you're talking about and that's after i blast it with compressed air. Works fine though haven't had time to shoot it yet.

that's a common phenomenon i wouldn't worry too much about it. Some people would even go so far to tell you that means you're doing it right, more oil is good. Personally i leave it on mine, can't hurt.

You mean there is oil seeping out of your AR? Perhaps you were a little too generous with the oil? I would think the only thing on an AR that may need a thin (as in thin) coat of oil on an AR (for storage) is the bolt carrier. Maybe the barrel and bore could use a light coat but the chrome lining makes it kind of pointless. Before you shoot it give the bolt carrier a quick shot of oil.

It wont hurt anything, though oil in the trigger mechanism is not really ideal.

That is common but I run my AR and my pistols pretty wet. I really like CLP for them but have trying Dri-Slide recently and so far I really like it.
