:cuss: Both the leather belts and holsters i got from Cabela's seem to have been Soaked in Walnut oil and i can't rub enough to get it down to a reasonable level. tried degreaser, rubbing, then tried rubbing alcohol (91%) with no joy... red hands, red everything arrgghhh. anyone have any ideas?

thanks.

The leather is probably finished with NeatsFoot oil. Lay them out in the sun on a piece of absorbent paper towel. Will help to dry up excess oil. May continue to stain clothing for a while. Eventually, the leather will dry to the point you can wear belt and holster without staining clothes.

Good shooting and be safe.

If you wait till warmer weather, you can wrap it in cloth and put it in your car with the windows rolled up. The heat will cause a lot of the excess oil to migrate out into the cloth. I've had to do that in the past.

ah, thx

thanks again :)
