Okay,

So the time has come to start picking colors to do the ak in. I know alot of you are purists but this is not what this poll or thread is about. I want two colors that are going to break up the pattern of the rifle.

I will be going with Magpul od green furniture.

The three choices I have chosen are as follows. The rifle will be parkerized and then cerakoted.

Patriot brown with magpul od green furniture

Slide is patriot brown, frame is magpul od green

Choclate brown with magpul od green furniture
The slide on this is chocolate brown

Lastly,

Magpul Flat Dark Earth and Magpul OD Green furniture.

Right now I am leaning toward patriot brown with the magpul od green furniture.

However, the flat dark earth with od green is a runner up. Someone, in the know that does camo jobs on weapons professionally recommended the magpul fde and magpul od green combo and said it will work well for almost any environment.

I would go with the Flat Dark Earth to go with the OD green furniture. I also like the Burnt Bronze that was on one of the highlighted 1911s.

Chocolate. It gives enough of a color difference to really break up the pattern otherwise it's kinda like having one navy sock and one black sock...guys can't see the difference but women can....the other choices seem too close and too dark.

Fde is my choice. to me there seems to be less of a contrast in the colors.
just my .01s worth, can't afford the other right now

let us know

I'm thinking magpul fde gun, magpul od green furniture, use magpul od green and a dark brown to make a camo pattern on the rifle. Use the dark brown and fde to pattern the od green accessories maybe?

I don't like blued guns.

Okay so I've just about decided through input from people on various forums to do a three or for color camo. I'm spring for magpul od green on gun and furniture, woodland tan and woodland brown and black with a unique camo design so to speak. Probably do like a tiger stripe pattern in woodland colors.

I am just brain storming a bit.

What about this pattern. I'd use magpul od green for the base coat on everything. Then i would use probably woodland brown and woodland tan or magpul fde for the other colors. I might even throw a little black in just in case.

Like the pattern and color combo of the AR in the photo. Has a tiger stripe/tree bark look to it.

I like your last suggestion the best. OD green, with 2-tone brown patterning.

Me to and I think pattern of camo (the way they stenciled it on) would look way cool with magpul od green base and then woodland brown and woodland tan.

I like the camo pattern but not the colors. I need a woodland type color here in Southeast TN. Especially in spring/summer. It should work good year round though.

"...rifle will be parkerized and then cerakoted..." Whatever for? Cerakote is likely more protective than Parkerizing. And doesn't need a pre-finish.
The sights and flash hider will stand out. Put a bit of the green on 'em.

The professionals i was going to have do it automatically parkerize first. Why I don't know?

The flash hider will be painted as well as the red dot and rear iron sights (hopefully).
