I dearly love knives of many descriptions. This one was given to me in the early 1970's by my USMC buddy. First knife I ever owned that had my name engraved on the blade. It's a prized possession but had been mostly sitting in the drawer. Finally decided to get a belt pouch for it from A.G. Russell, make it into a razor and start carrying it again. Let's see some of your old(er) favorites!

bannockburn, I have the Garcia to your Hackman and the same Gerbers.

Picked up the Hackman Survival knife at a small sporting goods store for $29.95; no sheath or box to go with it.

Had a Gerber Mk.II with the gray handle as well but gifted it sometime back to a friend of mine. Bought another one a few years later but now they were made with an all black handle and different serrations. They also switched to a black leather sheath instead of the original tan leather sheath.

Whoa. I just put this knife through a few passes on my Chef's Choice 1520 and then stropped on the pouch. It is no kidding surgery sharp. Carbon blades and good sharpener/strop will give you that. I can't imagine the pink stone or the Hard Arkansas in the Lansky giving much more of glassy finish. Whoa.
