Old Fuff me purchase my first 1911, learn the platform, swap out a bunch of parts just to learn how it ticked, and walked me through every step. A gentleman and a scholar, and one whose voice will be dearly missed.

Gee, I hadn't noticed the announcement that Old Fuff passed. I didn't think I could get any sadder about losing one of us when Art passed away. Old Fuff and I used to banter back and forth about the weather here in Michigan and his weather, or how it was so nice in Florida when we were there in the winter and Fuff was getting crapola weather. I hadn't seen any posts in a long while. ...RIP Fuff. I'm sure the weather is terrific where you are...sunny days and pleasant evenings.

Don would be honored & humbled by the kind words here. He didn't shoot much his last few years but man, could he talk. I'd known him 20 + plus years at his passing. He'd been a friend, mentor & a teacher to me & a Grampa Don to my kids. Anytime I wanted some piece of gun related information all I needed to do was mention the subject & stand back. The torrents of history, personal accounts & comments from gunfighters & writers of the past would fill the room.
He had two nieces, hadn't seen either in decades. His family was here in Southern Az & here on this forum.
