Anyone else have one like this or no someone who does and might want to let it go pretty cheap. I picked this one up from a buddy for 100 bucks because he bought it new about 10 years ago and did not like it so it stayed in his closet till I rescued it about a year ago. Now I love this little 9mm and I want to find more of the old gray and stainless Sigma's that people would not mind letting go of for a good price.

Well, I was going to make a Sigma joke...

but, I remembered I bought an "Ace of Bass" CD back in the early 90's, nobody is perfect. :D

It's funny how much it really does resemble a Glock..except IMO the Glock looks a million times better.

Not sure how I feel about the gray frame...

I have to say... damn that is just hideous!

Sorry - just doesn't look right!

Kinda like those "lady smiths"... just.... WRONG!

I find nothing wrong with the gray-frame Sigma. I bought one of the first Sigmas I saw (the original all-black) way back in 93 or whenever -- right before the AWB. It felt good (much better than the Glock) and ran flawlessly. I only got rid of it because it wouldn't group like a 1911 or Taurus PT-92... a characteristic I attribute to the caliber, rather than the gun itself.

The early Sigmas were easily a match for the Glocks in quality and superior to them in ergos and aesthetics.

Tha later Sigmas on the other hand... the ones after Glock sued...:uhoh:

honestly, for $100 I'd prolly buy it if it was looking as new as the one you bought. I mean, for $100, they aren't bad

It shoots great! It has been flawless for a few thousand rounds now, the trigger is smooth and pretty light for a Sigma (6-7lbs) The ergonomics are 10 times better then a Glock IMO, I think I might have underestimated how old this thing is, It came with 2 16 round mags when he bought it new and it had to be before the AWB, when was that exactly?

I'm pretty sure that isn't a pre-AWB version of the Sigma. I believe the version you have there was called the SW9V and I think those came out around early 97 as a lower priced version of the SW9F. There were plenty of pre-ban magazines for the Sigmas around for years, it wouldn't be surprising to see one of those with the pre-ban mags.

You might be able to contact S&W and find out the date of manufacture from the serial number.
