Location
Puget Sound, almost in the mountains.
Today I cleared the shop with the walk in from late last year, a Savage 1899, S/N 21xxx which reads out from 1901 or 1902 depending on the source consulted.

Stats:
Bbl; 25" rifling is dark but strong
Cal 30-30
finish; bbl, blue 95%, reciever, patina
straight wristed stock, wood is ~80% with character appropriate for age
butt is a steel crescent(I'll be REAL carefull how that is seated on the shoulder)
Action is as smoooth as butter...it will be FUN to shoot this one...I'm going to see just how "Dark" that bore is after a good scrubbing.

Aaron, who is grinning all the way. :D

Aaron,

As one of your best friends, let me be the first to say this (before anyone else beats me to it).....

THIS THREAD IS WORTHLESS WITHOUT PICTURES!!!!!! :neener:

(BTW, where are you going to hide this one from Grumpy? It's not like it is going to fit in the safe....)

Grumpy's response...

I walked in the door with it in my hands....I told her that it was over 100 years old...that got her interested enough to look at it with out going over the top about "ANOTHER GUN!?!?!?!?!?"

Course she cant say much with the new couch in the living room....

Aaron

Pics forthcoming

PS...I just need another larger safe is all....:what: :D :what: :D
