Nice, and still in .32 RF!
Thanks Dave. Wish I could shoot it more but the chamber is oversized and every other case, or so, splits and gives you a face full of gas. :cuss:I have considered having it converted to 32-20 centerfire. The bore isn't the best looking but it does shoot accurately enough with the rim fire ammo.

Old School rifle plus Old School gunsmithing: it began back in the '20's when a group of woodchuck hunters who worked at Springfield Armory had extra time on their hands. The War to End Wars had ended and Springfield's hunters with time to spare included officers Townsend Whelen and G.L. Wotkyns. Utilizing the armory's unlimited machining capacity and skilled craftsmen to do their bidding the woodchuck hunters, who were also avid ballistic experimenters, busied themselves by converting Springfield's M2 rimfire to centerfire and rechambering to the old blackpowder .22 WCF. By loading smokeless powder under a lightweight jacketed bullet they boosted the .22 WCF's by 1000 FPS or more. Wow! their creation was a chuck hunter's dream: velocity, flat trajectory and accuracy all rolled into one, and it stung like a Hornet. Soon other gunsmiths were also converting M2 Springfields to the sensational Hornet, among them the NYC firm of Griffin & Howe, who created rifles like this by adding a functioning magazine and dolling up their work with classic styled stocks of French walnut, and adding attractions like M-70 type safety, reshaping and checkering bolt handle. 21A_4026 (2).JPG 21A_4036 (2).JPG 21A_5056.JPG DSC_0029 (2).JPG
