Like one of these? (My favorite DW 1911, BTW)

Nice. I have one of those. Picked it up years ago when they just started making them. My box even says Kansas City and CZ on it! Have had many offer me money for it, but she’s not for sale. Most never even knew Dan Wesson built autos years before they were “discovered.”

While I'm sending it down range to come up behind me like that is poor etiquette.
That is grounds for a finger stompin' right there. I am a dedicated brass vulture, but I would never go collect someone's brass until they leave. Not that many people seem to reload where I currently shoot so not much brass being picked up by others anyway.

This year about the only usable brass I find is 6.5 CR and .308 Win. I have all the 5.56/.223 I will ever need. Did score some .270 Win recently and a couple boxes of pristine .264 Win Mag which I posted about here. Even though I don't currently have a .264 Win Mag I took it anyway. Queue the obligatory comment about gun seeds in 5,4,3....

I really can't pick one among the several 1911s in my safe.

As far as revolvers go, had a .45acp or two, but I really prefer my M25s in .45LC.

If you could have just one pistol chambered in 45 ACP, which would you choose?

Do not overthink this. You have the rest of your collection and can buy other guns. Whatever the situation is, you can have just one pistol in 45 ACP. That means you could build a P320 in 45 with various slides and grip modules, trade with friends, or sell it off and buy another.

Assume that the limit is not legal, but for some sort of personal reason such as being a diehard 357 Magnum fan keeping a little bit of sin on the side in secret.
My choice would have to be a Springfield 1911 Mil Spec because mine shoots great and has like no recoil even with 230gr+p ammo. Yeah you "only" have 8rd mags but if what you are shooting doesn't stop after 8+1 rounds then you need to get a rifle or just call in your 10 digit grid coordinates for a M777 155mm HE shell Arty barrage!

I could have more 45 ACPs, but I do only have one, and it's a CZ 97B. After getting the 97B I eventually sold my 1911 because I always went to the CZ when I shot 45 ACP. I admire the 1911 a lot, but I much prefer the feel of the 97, and I shoot groups that are half the size of what I did with the 1911.

People on the internet often say the 97 is a lot bigger gun than the 1911, but I don't find that to be the case.

The 97 fits in my hand and just feels right (like pretty much every CZ):

Ok you get a pass cause CZ anything is B.A. I do wish CZ would make a 1911...

I would go with my HK USPf 45---super reliable---very soft shooting---can't seem to miss with this pistol! I really do like my HK 45C quite a bit too...

I would keep my Kimber Stainless LW that I bought on sale at Sportsmans Warehouse for $599. It is the only 1911 of the several I have that was flawless out of the box, feeding FMJ, Critical Defense, and my 200 grain LSWC reloads from the factory mags and Wilson 8 rounders without a single malfunction. Everything I need and nothing I don't. Well, I could do without the front serrations which I think are unattractive.

This goes against the grain for me but i had an M&P full sized 45ACP and that gun shot more accurately for me than any other handgun I've had except my beretta 92. I am a one of strong hammer fired preference and im sure if i had a px4 full sized in 45 my tune would change but at this point, i have to give it to that M&P. And yes i have fired multiple 1911s and glocks in the caliber too

Para Ordnance stainless long slide, double stack in 45 acp. 15 rounds, 14+1, of social security in any environment. Recoil is minimal with any load / bullet weight. 200 gr SWC target loads shoot like a robust 22 LR. Great for a range poistol, but not something to carry all day on your hip.

Although I have a couple of others, I'd probably run with this (mainly because I have an affinity for Thermopolis Wyoming)...Never understood why this company made a single shot (sarcasm) that looked like a semi auto.
