One flashlight to rule them all

I recently purchased the stream light tlr-1s for $100. Then I picked up streamlights shotgun mount for $15 and the moe rail piece for $6. So for $121 I got a light that can be used for what I consider my three defensive weapons. I thougt this was a pretty good deal. One thing I was considering was using cut to fit electronic screen protectors for the flashlight glass. When used on a handgun the light can get fairly dirty. Has anyone come up with a way to protect the glass?

Does the light extend past your barrel?

Yes it does on the glock 19.
