After a horrific past two (2) days (the phone, people in black dresses, sprained my foot in kung fu, et al., etc., boo hoo hoo), I received some fantastic news: THE Pat Rogers is coming back to the bustling community of Lebanon, Indiana for a carbine class August 4th to 6th. Apparently he found a commuter train that comes out this far.

I am doing a one-legged happy dance. Anyone else at THR plan to attend? Look for the tall guy in the untactical T-shirts. He's buying the sushi after class.

I do have something to live for. Oh, happy day.:D

Dan, denek? Oh, yeah, it's $150 to reserve a spot. I believe the class is still $400.00. I'll send you the application form if you want one. Should be on the EAG site.

We'll go shoot together if you go and when my foot heals. The doc sez I won't be doing kung fu or gun fu at full power for a while ("Freeman, you're bouncing").:D

Jeff,

Pat's at that "force recon" site thingy. Just use, www.forcerecon.org

You can e-mail Mr. Rogers at [email protected], but he's usually off doing important stuff and doesn't stop by the deli where he gets his e-mail regularly. Probably be faster to e-mail Cap'n Ken, the BCSD rangedude, at [email protected] and he can send you the application for you LEO types.

Highly recommended for those who can make it. Pat's a great instructor and a real been there, done that kind of guy. Likewise for Ken Campbell.

Just wrote the check for the deposit and photocopied my credentials.

Denny, I'll see you in a couple weeks at the shotgun course.

Louis Awerbuck end of June, Pat Rogers in August, it's going to be a good summer

Jeff

Jeff-
Looking forward to meeting you. Dennis Bateman is coming from San Antone, and one guy is driving all the way from Alaska to train with us.

Erick-
What what that phrase we used so often with Pat? Ya'll may want to clue Jeff and Kirk in:D

Denny

Kobun, e-mail Cap'n Ken for the application; remember your Norge carry license is valid here in Indiana.

The requirements are: complete application, pay $400 (US), bring your gear, and provide El Tejon telephone numbers of hot Norwegian young and nubiles. The last requirement should be completed first.:)

DUMB question time.....

1. Who is Pat Rogers?

2. Is this class LEO only? I noticed that it's in the middle of the week, which is a headache for me.

3. I've checked the websites mentioned earlier, and didn't find anything about the course content. Any good sources on this?

Thanks for the help...

emc,

1. Pat Rogers is one of the great siboks of gun fu. A learned instructor who has btdt in all three colours--green, black and blue. USMC shooter, various federal agencies, and NY po-po. He is now an instructor at API (hah, he can't stop me, API--hah, hah) [I mean Gunsite Training Center now] and travels to give generously give us, we who sit in darkness, his time.

2. The class is not LEO only.

3. The course circ. is listed on the application. Go supra and e-mail Cap'n Ken for the application.

You guys don't get to have all the fun.

I am taking Advanced Carbine (#556) from Pat and Jeff Gonzales in September at Gunsite (or whatever it is called).

*sniff* :( I'm fourth on the waiting list. This class filled up ridiculously fast! I think I'm gonna do the Awerbuck Tactical Rifle instead. :)

A lot of instructors travel and they'll go to places like Gunsite to train whenever they're putting on a class. For example, Captain Ken Campell serves with the Boone County Indiana Sheriff's Department and he is an instructor for Gunsite.

Oooh I train w/ Bill Murphy, and will take some ITTS courses but until I get paid vacations I'm not going to Gunsite since most of their classes are through the work week :(
